「トラップ」の起源というと、一般的には90年代サウスのラッパーやグループで、2000年代になるとT.I.から始まるというのが定説なんだけど、個人的にはマーリー・マール（Marley Marl）から始まっている説を推したい。
トラップ特有の「チキチキビート」を最初に創ったのはマーリー・マールだと思う。（これより早いのがあったら教えてほしい）

ヤバすぎるでしょ。
マーリー・マールはピート・ロックやDJプレミアの直系の祖先でもあるし、つまりブーンバップの父である。
そして、トラップのビートを最初に生み出したのもマーリー・マール。
つまり、マーリー・マールが最初に全てのヒップホップを創った。
もう「ヒップホップの神」としか言いようがない。
世界はもっとマーリー・マールをリスペクトするべき。

When people talk about the origins of “trap,” the common narrative is that it comes from Southern rappers and groups in the ’90s, and then really starts with T.I. in the 2000s.
But personally, I want to argue that it actually starts with Marley Marl.
I think Marley Marl was the first to create that signature “chiki-chiki” hi-hat sound that defines trap. (If there’s anything earlier, let me know.)
Biz Markie’s “Vapors” came out in 1988.
That’s insane, right?
Marley Marl is also the direct ancestor of producers like Pete Rock and DJ Premier—in other words, the father of boom bap.
And he’s also the one who first created the foundation of trap beats.
So basically, Marley Marl created all of hip-hop from the beginning.
At this point, the only way to describe him is: the god of hip-hop.
The world needs to give Marley Marl way more respect.
